Alas, Mr March is here!

March 9th, 2008 by himboz

G’day, all

Alas, Mr March here is after much anticipation.  I can now take the back seat - for a little while - in the mean time.  It has been quite hectic and surprisingly my friends find it amusing at the fact that I am running around more than I ought to.  You may ask why.  Simple.  One works in the airline sector and thought that his work took away his precious time.  Of course all that changed after he heard my reality tale :)

I do take a breather and reflect from time to time.  Busy I may be but I will always try to pen my thoughts almost anywhere - in the bus, train or even before I catch my 40 winks.  Some of the thoughts which flashed across my mind includes:  Am I having the desired amount of time for myself and family?  Not exactly.  I think family is important.  The infamous quote that always remind one on how he / she can find friends but not family.  To a certain extent, there is some truth in that statement.

I do hope that in years to come, jubilation will conquer my emotions and revolve around my life.

Nothing much to pen down except that I am glad that I have managed to register a blog for 22 of my smart kiddos… www.kelasgerek2008.blogspot.com

Mission Tranquility @ Ritz Carlton

February 2nd, 2008 by himboz

G’day, all-ies (new-found plural for all :P)

January’s sonata came to an end after ushering in 2008.  With much gusto - yeah I can feel it - February is here to stay for the next 29 days or so.

I managed to steal some time off and accomplish my mission by getting all laid back at Ritz Carlton Millenia.  It was indeed a well-deserved break.  Not that I have heaps of work to do but as the years go by, one ought to take the back seat and enjoy every bit(s) and piece(s) of it where / when possible.  Getting stressed up is defnitely a move that is uncalled for.

A night at the suite was definitely not enough but I was thrilled by the fact that I woke up to a full view of the sea.  Refreshing indeed!  What better place to enjoy such breathtaking sights than this amazing - temporary - loft.  I felt treasured during my stay and all thanks to the loads of staffs there.

The tub overlooked Benjamin Sheares and to top it all, the shower was magnificient on top of to die-for.  The manly setting is one which every man yearns to be in every other morning.  Lying on the sofa spells cosy.  Whatmore can I say about this already-perfect sanctuary.

Not quite sure where exactly I will land myself next but one thing is for sure and that is:  All the finest things in life must be treasured while they are here to stay.

Till the the next entry…

What do you know…

December 21st, 2007 by himboz

G’day, all

Well what do you know?  One moment we were all busy counting down to usher 2007 and the next we are bidding farewell to 2007 - soon enough.

Thereafter 2008 will inch ever nearer.

Much has been done and accomplished.  Loads of stories and dilemmas were managed with much success and determination on my side.  Alhamdulilah.

More importantly, given the clean bill of health which I am always thankful for, it is a priceless asset which dough can’t buy for sure.  What matters now is keeping up with the healthy lifestyle and seizing the day definitely.

In general, while I may not have garner all that I wished for, I am totally grateful for living in this life filled with happiness and joy.  Shall keep it that way right through.

Resolutions?  Best to keep that in my head than penning it down for I do not want to be working for the resolutions tirelessly and ending up back on ground zero.

To all, end your 2007 with a big bang of your preferred style(s) and setting(s) and welcome 2008 with much gusto.  Positivity, laughter and love is ever-present around us so be sure to constantly have them with you especially so when you are down and filled with frustrations.  That applies to me just as much.

Best of luck for 2008!  Carpe diem!

SERIOUSLY SPEAKING

October 7th, 2007 by himboz

G’day,

I braved the crowd today - after ages - in town.  I practically hopped to numerous malls upon alighting at Somerset station.  First stop was OG followed by the following:

(a) Centrepoint

(b) The Hereen

(c) Paragon

(d) Ngee Ann City

(e) Wisma Atria

(f) C.K Tangs

(g) DFS @ Scotts

(h) Isetan @ Shaw House

(i) Borders

An impressive 10 stops in total.  Oh yes not forgetting stopping by MacDonalds along Scotts Road to break fast which has a cool alfresco ambience despite it being my second choice after Carousel was full to its brim.  All this was done alone; not that I did not want to beep others but I know they are busy or rather extremely occupied by now.

It was there - @ the alfresco setting - whilst I busied myself with the unhealthy junk food when I realised loads of stuffs.  On a serious note, I somehow perceived that I have never been taken seriously all along by people around me.  It’s weird but that was exactly what I thought out of a sudden but of course I had some reflections done prior to all these.  At times I do think I am left in the lurch but that is nothing new for such moments are always expected.  Perhaps the karma was just not right and the crowd I am with isn’t appropriate either.

It could possibly be true that I have never been taken for seriously.  I could be right or I could be wrong; either way I am more than receptive towards the true facts of reality.

Having said all that, I am anticipating a great countdown towards my ‘Project Liberation @ 10 Oct 2007.’  First and foremost, I would like to thank my special pal(s) who thoughtfully co-organised the affair.  I totally thought people will forget but I am wrong after all - but before all of that, I am aware and do know that you guys take me seriously amidst my zany character which does surface at times :) - I shall look forward to the affair and hoping for it to be a memorable evening.  Just a word of caution and that is not kiddish tricks please for I am going to be in my best then.

On an ending note and seriously speaking…nah let’s just not even go there for now at least.

Carpe diem!

BLUE FEVER GONE

September 30th, 2007 by himboz

Finally, the blue fever is gone for good.  It has been both trying as well as great moments on the whole.  Nonetheless such joys must be cherished for you never know when you shall need those memories to feed your esteem which might just hit all-time low.

Looking forth, indeed Syawal 1427 Hijrah is special with the blue fever period long gone before I knew it.  They say it is time to move on with one’s life.  Personally, I must say that having been this far via a challenging path, I owe it to my strong persona other than all of the other traits which are ever-present in me - all thanks to Allah swt.

Thankfully, all of the targets set this past year have been met successfully.  Being young, I have to therefore scale greater heights so that disappointment will not surround me in the years to come.

Before I pen it off, I am glad to be able to share a couple of amusing personas which I have met during the blue fever period:

Persona #1

This persona is so interesting that he/she sets tonnes of things to do albeit his/her hectic schedule.  His/her promises unfortunately never turn out to be a reality.  To add on further, he/she will each time become apologetic each time (all the time, rather) he/she fails to keep on to his/her promises.  Eventually, this habit got the better of them and it sure is tough to break-free of this age-old spell.

Persona #2

Have you ever met those individuals who utter one thing to you and another to others?  This epidemic is somewhat contagious because it seems that more and more people are ’signing up’ for this petty path.  They have great skills in spinning tales that they might just be the envy of Hans Christensen; just their luck that they were non-existence during that era.  Instead of being victimised by the dragons, they ‘perished’ unknowingly to a ‘kingdom’ which is unheard of.

Persona #3

Last but not least shall be a persona which is neither here nor there.  Interestingly, they sit on the fence per se.  Finding it tough to voice their concerns, they rather wait for ages for some other good samaritans to come to their rescue.  When all that is done, they are still unsure if what was done was to their personal advantage.  Snowballed into being fickle-minded, they are prone to being an outcast when situations gets complex and rather view the whole show from a narrow spectrum.

There you have it all of the 3 all-time favourites personas.

Shall park my Cadillac here for now.  Will visit the next town soon.

Oscar Night

November 3rd, 2006 by himboz

G’day all!

I have just got back from my department’s Dinner & Dance held at Oriental Hotel Singapore.  It was a classy night which indeed paid off totally.  Basically, I was in the committee to ensure that some of the aspects assigned to me ran smoothly.

Coming all back to the theme, I don on something simple and boy did it work well for the event.  I was in black jacket, white shirt, red woven tie and of course my hat - that I got while I was in down under.  The praises which came through totally assured me that I was dressed to the occasion.  It was interesting to see fellow colleagues dressing up in all sorts of style.

Lucky draw wise, never been lucky enough so far but as it is already, I am contented with what I have - minus the absence of a Lambo though:(  Some people surely won big having walking away with plasma TV set and cruise voucher and cool gadgets.

Well of course I do have my own laments.  It is disappointing to hear how people condemned you without any form of prudent justification.  Oh well, people will always complain for as long as they live, ain’t it?  I do, at times swallow my pride but having to do that all the time will not do any good for my esteem especially.

I know my prayers have been answered from time to time so for now I will just make sure I do my job sincerely and to pretty much inform people - diplomatically - how it could be a pain in the neck to have people scrutinise you and set the wrong directions.  Oh trust me, you will be surprise how some people’s mouth shoot their targets at a rate faster than an M-16.

Period.

Seeking comments please.  Thanks.

HiMbO + SyaWaL = GweEn

October 23rd, 2006 by himboz

G’day all!

It’s Himbo again:)  It’s 1 Syawal and Himbo can’t quite sleep for that matter.  Is it anxiety or is it my new outfit which I will be clad in in a matter of less than 6 hours?  Well which ever the case is, there we have it - Syawal.  Of course it is supposed to be joyous occasion.  As much as loads of happiness is sinking in me, I am equally sad upon the demise of my aunt who lost the battle to cancer.  My empathy goes out to her family of course.  Losing a mother is definitely not easy, trust me for I can truly feel the remorse.  Anyway, my prayers will always be with my aunt and of course not forgetting my dad.  At least my dad ain’t alone now :)

Tomorrow evening, I have invited Teck Keng to come over for dinner seemingly he will be gone for almost 2 months for some Asean expedition on board a friendship ship.  Cool eh.  I guess tomorrow is the only feasible time which I could have him over since he will depart this very Saturday.  Speaking of which I am pretty amused at this officer back in my office who has been sending text messages to officers and inviting them for lunch.

No, no do not get me wrong.  I am not in any positon to feel slighted.  Not an inch.  But I’d say I am more concerned of his unethical behaviour which has in one way or another challenge my thoughts.  To trust people of such calibre and intellect to behave as such.  Well, it sure is a slimy world out there but well that will only make you stronger from day to day.  As I have mentioned to my superior, my days are numbered now with regards to serving my military obligations.  I missed teaching - not the paper work but being in the classroom and the interesting interactions etc.

Ok well, I guess I better pen it here for now.  Not quite an interesting entry for the day I supposed.  It’d be 4 deserving weeks of Syawal and hopefully this year will be more fruitful as compared to the last one.  Can’t wait for go for my visiting sessions later on.  Always looking forward ever since I was young.  This year my nephew will be on his feet walking his way so all of us will have to keep close eyes on our dearest Mr Amirul Hakimi.

Till the next entry (hopefully more interesting yeah!), Salam Eid Mubarak.

Mission - Justified Break (JB)

October 15th, 2006 by himboz

JB - Justified Break.  Uh, huh that’s exactly how I pictured it.  Anyway, it was meant to be like any other Sunday where I am supposed to slump myself in front of the TV set and be entertained by all kinds of show - no matter how lame they are (hey! I pay for the tax, so please bring me more :)

Then in the midst of my Melodi infotainment programme, my cousin called my celly and my mum who answered it, later on informed me that my cuzzie intended to head down to JB.  Well,  it sure was a tempting idea but I gave it a second thought anyway.  Alas, HimBo ain’t resist the idea and took up mission Justified Break otherwise known as JB in short.

It sure was one hell of a hazy day yet again.  To cut things short, I got myself some stuffs and some traditional decors which guests to my abode would be able to see for themselves.  It’s something one would see in the lawns of a kampung house.  Now, it is ever available right in the heart of HimBo’s abode.  Coming Soon - 1 Syawal.

We had dinner @ Al-Ameen and now I was at the place after so long and finally able to understand what my friends were talking about.  Ok, ok I am a bit slow in my progress here somehow.  But like they always say, better late than neva. :)  With much guilt thereafter, I had cheese+egg prate.  Yikes!  In addition, I had some samplings of naan, cheese naan, mee goreng, pulled tea (teh tarik, duh) and distilled water.  That’s more guilt than I could ever imagine man!  Ok, ok one of my aunt mentioned that I am growing fat so I am enduring this Ramadhan to somehow tone down and lose those flabs.  I think being slender is the best, yeah.

I shall pen it off for now and guess what?  It’d be a week or so before we bid farewell to Ramadhan.  Each year after my dad passed on, the meaning of Ramadhan truly gets through me like totally and I mean it.  It truly makes me reflect upon my actions and not to mention appreciating what Lailatul Qadar is all about.  I think this month is supposed to be joyous and not be immersed in total sadness.  Ok till the next entry, HimBo wanna turn in for now.  Tiring day indeed.  For those reading this entry, a jubilant Eid Mubarak to you, be it if you are anywhere in Sydney:) or Chai Chee :) or anywhere in the world.

Carpe diem!

Magnificient Prima Donna #4

September 9th, 2006 by himboz

G’day all!

It’s a freaking humid Saturday.  Here I am stuck at home having to feed my new pet.  I named her Magnificient Prima Donna #4.  I am sure she will last me for a good 2 years if not 10.  She should be around when guests comes by for Eid Fitr later this year.  Speaking of which the year is coming to an end and so what have I been up to?  Well, this year, I must say that I have been in and out of the studio  recording tonnes of songs with the rest of my band group.  Our latest release will be Ekspresi (watch out for it coz it’s gonna be a killer hit, trust me).

Other than lame work back at the office, not too much of playing around ever since I got my new pet.  She’s asleep now and gotta wake her up to feed her with great bytes.  By the way, I have just realised that people are aware of my post and thanks to one particular fella indeed.  Not that I’d be mindful of what I say, but I’d still be consistent and happy to know that there are people hearing my laments.

I am thinking of doing couple of things before year end and hopefully I could accomplish them.  Please join my in my prayers:

1.  Visit Bangkok (need to replenish my tees which I gave away)

2.  Decide on a destination for a trip next year

3.  Go for Hi–Tea with my band group ;)

4.  Clear the clutter in my flirtatious themed abode :-x

5.  Indulge in as many outings as possible as I’d rather die being marked:

    Remained.Impossibly.Pathetic

Ok that’s all I have got for now.  Till the next time, carpe diem!

La Escapade Gone Wrong

August 26th, 2006 by himboz

G’day to you!

I was back from a great island escapade with tonnes of great pix shots( read on).  The view was breathtaking and not to mention the laid back life I was in for the 2 days and 1 night escapade.  Since it was an off-peak season, the crowd was nowhere to be found.

Batam.  Yes, that’s the escapade island indeed.  Well, apparently, all stuffs are charged in SGD.  Goodness, a simple fried rice cost me a freaking 13 SGD.  Now, how bad can that be?  Well, like they always say, travelling is a priceless experience so I was all out to get a taste of the life there.  Not going there in the near future though.  The room was especially freaking nice.  Try Harris Hotels and Resorts and you will find that the whole ambience is simply chirpy and sunny all due to the colour donned by the staffs - freaking orange.

Why it went wrong?  Well, on our way back from the island, all the magnificient shots taken using new Casio digicam was completely lost and gone for good.  Many thanks to the photographer wannabe who simply loved fidgeting with the camera that it ended up in a total mess.  I was very pissed off for that matter.  Gosh.  I simply did not have any mood to even head down to JB right after that.

So the point is, be sure that you do not pass your camera to simply anyone and be sure to use safety feature like locking your pix in order not to lose them.  I took consolation by pacifying myself time and again that I should just take it as a learning experience and thankfully it was not at some Bahamas Island.  Yeah, indeed very true there.

Ok shall sign off for now.  Till then…
